Hemorrhage: EPL

ACOG recommended as an appropriate first-line therapy, unless contraindicated, as in patients with hypertension1,2

Bleeding due to early pregnancy loss (EPL) warrants expectant management to avoid complications3

Methergine and misoprostol are commonly used uterotonic medications for EPL hemorrhage*4

Little evidence exists to recommend starting with a particular agent5

Methergine Tablets have a rapid onset (5-10 minutes)6 and, unless contraindicated, are appropriate as a first-line agent to manage EPL hemorrhage2

*Due to uterine atony.
